WCCTEC Christmas with Grace Program

Students and Santa visit with Grace residents

On December 15, 2016 the students and staff from the Washington County Career and Technical Education Center welcomed the residents of Grace Healthcare by presenting their annual "Christmas with Grace" Program. Students conducted a variety of fund raisers in order to buy each of the one-hundred-eight Grace residents a gift and provide them with a Christmas luncheon. Students and staff at the WCCTEC have a fierce belief in the moral dimension of this program. The faculty and staff of the Career and Technical Education Center are proud to have students who have an attitude of gratitude and an ethical concern for other people.  A truly wonderful day was had by all!

Who are we?

The Washington County Career and Technical Education Center is an extension of your home high school in the Washington County Virginia Public School System. We work with each high school to accommodate their schedule and special events. The Washington County CTE Center offers both introductory and specialized training in Trade and Industrial, Service, and Health Occupations. The Washington County CTE  Center continues to grow each year while trying to meet the ever changing demands of education and industry. Students attending the Washington County CTE Center have many different courses to choose from. Our courses range from one, two, and three year programs. Many of our programs offer opportunity for students to earn professional credentials, verified credits, and some offer professional licensures. Dual college credit is also available for some of our courses through Virginia Highlands Community College. Our dual credit classes are:  Medical Terminology, Drafting/CAD, Computer Networking, Criminal Justice, and Culinary Arts.

The faculty and staff of the Washington County CTE Center believes in providing  you with excellent , state-of-the-art training that will allow you to explore occupations, begin a career, or advance to higher education. We will work to create an atmosphere of mutual respect. We want to help you develop good habits that will last a lifetime and give you the training to help you make a good living.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in professional organizations:  SkillsUSA and Health Occupations Students of America. Several of our courses will allow you to take your professional certification test at the end of your coursework. Passing your professional certification test gives you a verified credit for your class and makes employers more likely to hire you.
